It should be renamed "Nokia Shitlet 3Giantloadofshit"

Not only do I hate Nokia products. This is lame lame lame lame. I realised repeated the word lame.

People have been asking me how many songs I actually wrote for Parkview so here is an answer to the question. In total including the songs on Parkview itself I wrote and recorded over 80 songs. So after a late night decision (last night) I decided to put a little something together. No rest for the wicked!

I have put the 12 favourites of mine that didn't quite make the cut into a B-Sides album for free download called "Cutting Room Floor". Some of these recordings are Demo takes but are all still mastered. So they aren't perfect but thats the point.

Okay. Every morning before the daily grind I mosey over to the P.O. Box to pick up mail. There is this older lady who drives a van who also picks up her mail. Her P.O. Box is next to mine. About a year ago we were both there picking up our mail when I found that one of her letters was in my P.O. Box. We exchanged general chit chat. Every morning if I see her I say hi. The thing is, now it feels uncomfortable. If I see her van I try to quickly run over to my car and speed off.

My Friend Belle

Well where do I start. This is a really really amazing story. Let me summarise it for you really quickly.

Over the past fortnight Belle has been in hospital. In that fortnight she has:

Died (technically)
Had heart surgery (for the third time in her life)
Been in a coma
Gotten sleazy on nurses
Learned Spanish songs on guitar
Found out how awesome wheelchairs really are!

She is the number one trooper! I don't think I know anyone who has been through more shit than that in such a short period of time.

Belle is great and she tells it like it is about her "interesting" hospital experiences. They are really a great read.

"I spilled caramel sundae all over myself yesterday, and because I have to remain topless, I got it over my boobs. I asked Nicki (the nurse) to come in and wipe the caramel off, and she winked at me and passed me a cloth. She's a dirty bitch... you can just tell. haha."

"The second thing I asked for after waking from the coma was my iPhone. I'm confident it's my soulmate. I have full mobility in the left side of my body now, which is awesome (makes this typing thing easier haha)"

But on a more serious note Belle seems to be able to handle what is coming far greater than I ever could. It really does amaze me.

"I'm feeling okay now.
I had surgery about 7 hours ago, in the midst of a black out, cyclone and storms in Perth. I just woke up out of a coma type thing, and had no idea what was going on."

"The nurse came in when the alarms went off to say I was no longer in code blue or something!? And they fussed around for a bit then asked for my next of kin details cause I didn't put anyone down. I refused to give details cause I have a gnarly mum, anyway... The doctor comes in and tells me the draining failed and I went into cardiac arrest and died for just under three minutes. I have the most intense bruising from the paddles when they electrocuted? Me back to consciousness. And went straight into a coma situation for 6 hours and just woke up crying for my iPhone. Haha They're amazed I'm sitting up texting already and claim miracle. Anyway, the procedure failed and I died! Pretty gnarly. But I feel okay now, minus the wires and constant throwing up of blood."

"Got my hair cut today to prepare for chemo, and still in rehab from the cardiac arrest. All is going well."

Belle you are in my prayers. Even if you don't believe in God ;)
We wish you a speedy recovery....... So you can move to Sydney and play Spanish guitar songs for us in the Studio :)

Good Morning - It's Monday!

Good morning all of those in the land of the interwebz. How is everyone today? It's Monday! It's not necessarily a good thing though. I am sick and I need more sleep. I had an interesting weekend where I saw a head on crash in Pennant Hills and later that night we witnessed a shooting in Kings Cross. What is the world coming too?

Firstly the "kid" that was driving this car who slammed head on into a car with children is an absolute moron. A few minutes after the crash I got out of the car we were in. I walked up to this moron and asked him "What the hell is wrong with you?" his answer was "I had just bought this car 5 minutes ago". The car didn't even last him 5 minutes. Not only does he not have a car now, he has probably lost his license for about a year.

I will not talk about the shooting. That was something else.

"Nicholas Cole and crew kicked things off with a playful hour of hip hop tunes. With a few MCs and some tight beats via synths and samplers, the lads more than entertained their crowd and looked as if they were having a killer fun time too. Their rhymes were light and fun, escaping all the typical Aussie hip hop tangents and when the team took on group rhymes the energy on stage was mighty. It was fun and fresh, the room was packed and the crew was laughing.

Up next was One Flew East, a Sydney quartet with a thing for melody. The boys kicked off with some uplifting rock, big on keys and power-vocals as they charged into an energetic set. Lead singer Richard Lucano craned himself over his keyboard, throwing anthemic vocals to his audience while his band pumped out some old school stadium chords. The sum of their parts was a weighty mix: long, heavy bass lines on neverending riffs and uplifting piano melodies on charged-up drums. Lucano sang like his life depended on it, as did the rest of theband, and there was no denying their energy or emotional investment in this project.

With many songs building on a basic pop foundation , the band graduated to the heights of power pop choruses with frenetic piano runs and relentless drumming that pushed and pushed before caving into the verses. Structurally, their music is thoughtful and consistent without treading the same ground twice. Admittedly, their get up is something of a conundrum on the Sydney scene. While the vast majority of bands favour electro pop and synthed up rock, One Flew East do rock that's reminiscent of Incubus. As a point of difference, it's dependent on the fact that they do it well, but to really sink your teeth into One Flew East's tunes you need a disposition towards piano, a thing for the Chili Peppers or a soft spot for stadium rock that's hearty and heated."
